About

I photograph the places most people only pass over, or never see at all.

A single figure in a yellow coat dwarfed by Skógafoss waterfall

I'm Luc Davies, the photographer behind this site. My interest in photography began at university, but it wasn't until I went to sea that it became a genuine passion. Working as a deck officer has taken me to places most people never get to see, and put me alongside interesting, experienced crew who often become the subjects of my photos.

Most of my work happens in transit — mid-flight, mid-dive, or on a deck between takes. My rule for editing is simple: the final image has to match what I actually saw and felt through the viewfinder. Color grading and contrast exist to bring that moment back, not to invent one that wasn't there.

I take on assignments across private yacht, marine, nature, sports, and natural portrait work — really, anything that involves more movement.
